Ali works with wool sourced from old blankets. Blankets enfold, warm and comfort
us. Each blanket brings it’s own story - people were born, made love, lived and
died in them. And the wool itself has a life; it has a body and a thickness. It grows
old gracefully. Each new work is constructed from pieces of dyed blanket,
fragments of other peoples’ lives.
